Most fake attorneys operate under the scheme of “false promises and hopes.” To convince the client, they use various methods:

  • using NLP marketing methods to attract new clients;
  • using sales methods, a person without legal education is not immediately able to distinguish a scammer from a real lawyer, as they do not understand legal and judicial practices;
  • if possible, find out from acquaintances about good lawyers, it's better to take advantage of it.

Fake Lawyers

Fake lawyers sprinkle a large number of terms that may be unclear to the client and confuse them even more. These lawyers also boast about their connections and ability to negotiate with everyone, solve any questions easily, but they do not forget to demand payment for their services. Fake lawyers can be distinguished by several points:

  • they offer free legal help, which is a marketing trick, most often scammers impose their services already at the first consultation;
  • most fake lawyers call themselves with an insistent invitation to visit the office;
  • they rush the client to sign a cooperation and payment contract, not allowing them to familiarize themselves with the terms in the document;
  • they guarantee an absolute solution to the issue in the shortest possible time.

Professionals understand that a court dispute can last a long time, which allows them not to give such guarantees to their clients and accurately name the deadlines for the completion of the case.

Pseudo-Legal Companies

Scammers often operate under the guise of law firms, adopting the name of already well-known, reputable firms in the legal field. A lawyer representing a well-known firm may be a scammer, so it is enough to enter the company name into a search engine, and the information will surely appear on the screen.

Fraud with Lawyers

Fraud with lawyers can be revealed at any moment during a legal procedure, to avoid unpleasant moments and beforehand learn to distinguish pseudo-lawyers:

  • before signing a contract, study information about the lawyer you plan to work with (find out their current status, work experience, education, and client reviews).
  • everything must be done within the law, scammers may push the client towards illegal actions, offering (evidence falsification, bribes, integrity
  • a lawyer does not offer such things, show vigilance and attentiveness, do not believe promises of guaranteed case wins;
  • do not let the lawyer's work take its own course, try to control and demand reports on the work done.
